What’s to come in 2017.

Sorry I’ve been a bit silent the past few weeks, but I’m sure you’re all familiar with how stressful the Christmas period can be. But on top of all the festivities, I was lucky enough to land a fab job in PR (after a pretty emotional search and a dramatic call centre experience mind), just before Christmas, so I’ve been pretty focused on that.

But now that I’m all settled and the holiday is coming to an end, I’m happy to be back to writing and thought I’d create a little list of everything I intend to do this year on this blog.

  1. Tackle my book challenge.

This one is admittedly going to be difficult. Fifty book in a year, I’m going to have to be dedicated for this one. Originally I was going to try and do one a week, but with different sized books on my list, that’s not a reasonable request.

So instead, I’m just going to let myself read as I wish and post a reviews in the order that I have read them (hopefully that will be once every week to satisfy my organisation bug, but who knows).

FYI: I probably won’t be reading these in the order provided on the list, sorry.

2. Host the blog myself.

I have wanted to move over to WordPress.org for a while now and learn how to host my own site. This isn’t necessarily to make money from the site, just to be able to completely personalise it would be incredible and it’s also a new skill I want to learn.

3. Start posting more food posts.

I love to bake and cook but to be honest with you, I’m normally so hungry when I’m doing it that I don’t think to document the process and spend time getting an Instagram-worthy back drop ready. But I want to start to this year.

4. Publish more fiction.

I still get a little nervous when posting my fiction on here, and I need to get over that in 2017. It can be difficult to expose your creativity like that, but I know I’m not going to get any better unless I carry on writing and carry on showing it to other people. So this is going to change this year. Fiction Friday needs to make a comeback.

5. Post at least 3 times a week.

Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays are my goal. It’s so easy to get distracted, especially when writing for publications, working full time and managing relationships and friendships. But I’m going to do my best to schedule in advance.

Let me know your blogging goals for 2017!
